Natalie Gilder
Director of Haverhill Community Care – Nominated Individual and Registered Manager with Care Quality Commission
Haverhill Community Care is proudly owned by Nathalie Gilder, a dedicated professional with an unwavering passion for caring for others. With over 21 years of experience in the health and social care sector, Nathalie has accumulated thousands of hours of hands-on experience, supporting individuals with a diverse range of conditions and needs.
Nathalie’s journey into care began at the young age of nine, when her father suffered a life-changing cerebral brain hemorrhage. This formative experience ignited her commitment to a career in care and ultimately led to the founding of Haverhill Community Care.
Starting in residential care, Nathalie went on to work with a local NHS hospital trust before transitioning to domiciliary care in 2008. Her rapid ascent to the role of Registered Manager made her one of the youngest to achieve this status in the country. In 2014, her professionalism and dedication were recognised when she received the Registered Home Care Manager of the Year award at the East of England Great British Care Awards.
In 2017, Nathalie established Haverhill Community Care, creating a supportive environment that promotes initiatives like Dementia Friendly Environments. She has been a powerful advocate for raising awareness around dementia-related issues. Her remarkable contributions to the community earned Nathalie a nomination as a Community Champion finalist at the Star of Suffolk Awards in 2015.
Nathalie’s innovative approach to dementia care was further highlighted when she became a finalist at the Suffolk Care Awards in 2016. In 2019, she founded “Memories are Golden,” a day service for individuals living with dementia and those facing social isolation, which has since evolved into a vital registered charity in our community. Her outstanding work continued to be recognised when she won ‘Care Employer of the Year’ both regionally and nationally at the Great British Care Awards in 2020.
In 2023, Nathalie established Thrive Hub, a specialised day service for adults with learning and physical disabilities. In just 2 years, this initiative has become a vital resource, reinforcing her commitment to improving the lives of individuals in our community.
Nathalie exemplifies the heart and dedication of a true leader in care. Through her tireless efforts, she consistently strives to improve the quality of life for others, making a lasting impact on the community she serves.
