Spreading Holiday Cheer with Project Smile: A Christmas Tradition of Giving. At Haverhill Community Care, the holiday season is always extra special, thanks to our Project Smile initiative. This annual tradition brings us all together to share the warmth of Christmas with those who may be spending the holiday alone. This year, we had the joy of cooking delicious Christmas dinners with all the trimmings, preparing the perfect festive meal for our neighbours in need.

But the celebrations didn’t stop there. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to deliver presents alongside the meals – gifts donated through our Giving Tree and purchased using the funds raised by our festive raffle. From hand-knitted scarves to thoughtful gift sets, every present was chosen with care to bring a smile to someone’s face.

There’s something truly heart-warming about seeing the joy these meals and gifts bring to our recipients. Watching their faces light up as they receive not only a delicious dinner but a personal gift to remind them they are thought of and cared for is what makes this tradition so meaningful. It’s moments like these that make all the hard work worth it – knowing that we are making a real difference in the lives of those who might otherwise be forgotten during the holidays.

Project Smile is more than just about providing food and presents – it’s about showing people they matter, that they’re part of a caring community. This tradition has been a core part of our work at Haverhill Community Care, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all over again this year.
